Be yourself, be original ♥ What is originality? -noun -ability to think or express oneself in an independent and individual manner; creative ability.-freshness or novelty, as of an idea, method, or performance.[http://dictionary.reference.com/]
What do you think about people who have no originality? Some people try really hard to copy someone. Having originality is very important for some people but for others, they say that it’s a compliment when people try to copy or imitate you just like with the celebrities when their fans try to imitate their styles. How about for ordinary people who value their identity? They feel so bad that it seems somebody is trying to steal their identity and uniqueness.
How important is originality? Basically, it means being able to show the world who you really are. You show people what is inside you, your ideas, your personality, your skills and etc. In short, you let people explore your own little world. Copying is not as bad as what people think but being yourself feels right and makes you feel good. It just conveys that you have something interesting and unique to show the world.
Why do people try to be copy-cats? According to Erik Erikson’s Psychological Theory which talks about the psychological crisis of human development, we have to surpass different stages to be fully matured. Take note of the fifth stage, Fidelity: Identity vs. Role Confusion (Adolescents, 14-24 years). People covered from this stage are concerned with how they appear to others. And since people in this stage are bound to develop their identity but closely influenced by people around them like friends and groups they belong to. They try to develop their identity together by doing things together. How about people who are not under this stage? They were not able to surpass this stage and they’re stuck at it.
Be yourself, be original, be unique because the people around you want to know the real you, your ideas and what it feels like being in your inner world. People are not interested in seeing you through the glasses of somebody else. It’s not that I hate people without originality but I just find these people boring and shallow. -

Life is like a game Life is like a game and a game will always be a game, we should never take it seriously. I mean, we don’t have to be too emotional for what is happening around us because everything happens for a reason. Yes, we’re humans and we’re born with emotion so we could still be emotional but not too emotional. The people you meet in the long run will still remain as they used to be. You wouldn’t exactly know what they’re thinking in that very moment. A chance to meet true people is 50-50 and a chance to meet all kinds of people is 100%. You learn from them and they learn from you. It’s just a matter of how they will try to perceive everything from you. You do this, you do that.. people will just judge you for that simple mistake you did, people will judge you for what you did and not for who you are. But who are we? They say, action speaks louder than words. Do our actions speak in behalf of our identity? For almost 5 years in college, my professors keep on telling us that you should assess before you implement, you have to think before you act. It takes years to really practice that simple reminder esp. when the lives of the people are in your hands. My dad keeps on saying on the pulpit, quoted from the Bible that tongues are too sharp that it could destroy a life.
What should we do if life is nothing but a complicated game? What I’ve learned when I was young is that being a christian is not an easy task. As my Sunday school teacher taught me that one of the essence of being a Christian is “ChristIAN” or “I am nothing without Christ” Unless you found the true meaning of life, that would be the time you’d learn how to take life seriously.
It’s either you carry the world as a burden or let the world carry you as a slave.
